• Bonding - A unique metallurgical bond is created between the zinc and the base steel in the galvanizing process which allows no under-film corrosion. Paint coatings, on the other hand, leave the product totally at risk if breached.
• Strength - The ductile outer zinc layer provides good impact resistance to the coating. The Zeta and Delta layers are actually harder than the base steel and provide exceptional resistance to coating damage by abrasion.
• Protection - The galvanized coating will be at least as thick, possibly thicker, on the corners and edges (where paint coatings usually break down first) as on the general surface.
• Thoroughness - Because of the total emersion of the steel in the molten zinc bath all areas are coated, even places hard to reach or inaccessible by paint application. |
